Today, on International Dog Day, we’re celebrating the dogs that bring companionship, joy, protection, and so much love into our lives.

But beyond the celebration, today also gives us an opportunity to think about something bigger:

Are we creating the kind of environment where our pets can truly thrive?

For many pet owners, taking care of a dog goes far beyond providing food and shelter. It means understanding their behaviour, paying attention to their health, giving them opportunities to socialise, finding trusted services, connecting with other responsible pet owners, and simply having access to the right information when we need it.

And this is part of the reason PetMatch.fit exists.

Building a Better Pet Community

We believe that having a pet should not feel like a journey you have to navigate alone.

There are thousands of pet owners across Nigeria who have questions, experiences, recommendations, stories and useful knowledge to share. There are also many pets looking for opportunities to socialise and connect with others.

PetMatch is being built to help bring these connections together.

It Starts With Community

We don't believe technology alone will solve everything.

A better pet ecosystem starts with people.

It starts with pet owners being willing to learn from one another. It starts with sharing useful information. It starts with helping someone who is getting their first dog. It starts with recommending a trustworthy vet, groomer, trainer or pet service. It starts with giving our pets more opportunities to interact, play and live fulfilling lives.

And ultimately, it starts with recognising that our pets depend on us to make good decisions for them.

That is the community we want to help build with PetMatch.

From Celebration to Action

International Dog Day shouldn't only be about posting pictures of our dogs — although we absolutely love those pictures! 🐶❤️
